As a Senior QA Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving quality initiatives, shaping test strategies, and ensuring the performance, reliability, and scalability of our digital platforms. This role requires deep expertise in automation, strong functional testing skills, and the ability to mentor teams and influence quality across the SDLC.

Key Responsibilities

Automation Strategy & Development

Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable automation frameworks for an internal Content Management System, as well as web, mobile, and OTT applications.

Define automation strategy, standards, and best practices across teams.

Develop and oversee automated test suites for smoke, regression, and end-to-end testing.

Ensure seamless integration of automation into CI/CD pipelines to enable faster and reliable releases.

Functional & Exploratory Testing

Oversee and contribute to manual and exploratory testing for complex workflows and edge cases.

Validate CBS Digital products including an internal Content Management System, APIs, mobile apps, web platforms, and OTT/Smart TV devices.

Ensure compatibility across devices, browsers, platforms, and environments.

Quality Engineering & Test Strategy

Define and drive test strategies, plans, and quality metrics aligned with business goals.

Partner with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams to refine requirements and acceptance criteria.

Identify risks, gaps in coverage, and implement solutions to improve overall quality maturity.

Defect Management & Root Cause Analysis

Lead defect triage, prioritization, and resolution processes using tools like JIRA, TestRail.

Collaborate with engineering teams to diagnose issues, provide detailed reproduction steps, and validate fixes.

Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.

Leadership & Collaboration

Mentor and guide QA engineers, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.

Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Champion a quality-first mindset across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

Required Skills

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

5+ years of experience in QA with a strong focus on automation and quality engineering.

Advanced proficiency in tools like Selenium, Appium or other similar tools.

Strong experience in testing content management systems, including but not limited to UI and API testing (Postman, RestAssured).

Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI).

Solid programming skills in Java, Python, or similar languages.

Experience with database validation and SQL.

Preferred Skills

Experience testing video streaming platforms, media systems, or OTT ecosystems.

Performance testing expertise with JMeter, Locust, or similar tools.

Experience with containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus.
