Senior Accountant

Kforce's client, a well-established, publicly traded organization located in the Waltham, MA area is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support general ledger accounting, month-end close, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and audit requirements. This hybrid position is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong GAAP knowledge and experience working in a deadline-driven corporate environment. The client offers a competitive compensation package and hybrid schedule. Key Responsibilities:

• Support the monthly close process through preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations across areas such as accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and intercompany activity
• Perform balance sheet and P&L account analysis and investigate or correct variances as needed
• Review expense activity and prepare reclasses or other adjusting entries to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Manage intercompany accounting, including reconciliation of related receivable, payable, and expense balances
• Assist with external audit requests by preparing schedules, support, and other documentation
• Help maintain compliance with SOX controls, U.S. GAAP, and public-company reporting requirements
• Work closely with FP&A and other finance partners on monthly accruals, expense reviews, and related close activities
• Contribute to accounting process improvements, ad hoc analysis, and special projects as needed
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 4-5+ years of accounting experience within a publicly traded company
• Experience with general ledger accounting and month-end close
• Experience supporting quarterly and annual external audits
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Knowledge of fixed assets, accrual accounting, prepaid expense amortization, intercompany accounting, and expense analysis
