CATERING COORDINATOR

Job TitleOutline of Job Duties:Supervise events and department involvementsAttend event meetings with potential and existing clientsReview details of events with appropriate leadership & staffEstablish quoted proposal and pricing of events with clientsAct as the Internal/External LiaisonInternal: Coordinating product, purchases, and business needs with all internal company, store, or departments. (I.E. floral, wedding cakes, store purchases and/or transfers)External: Coordinating product, purchases, rentals, leases, and business leads with external vendors and/or companiesEvent/Site visits and/or walk-through with clientsNegotiate contract terms & agreementsFinalize event pricing and contract agreements with clientsEnsure event planning sheets are drawn up and posted in designated areas and forwarded to Catering Chef and Banquet ManagerProactively recruit and train event staffSchedule and supervise event staff accordinglyEnsure profitability of catering programQualifications:Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience3 years' experience in Event Planning or SupervisionMust be able to resolve differences through diplomatic meansMust be knowledgeable in various training methodsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalFlexibility in work hours including nights, weekends, and holidaysMust have excellent problem solving skillsMust be able to lead by example to give Food City customers their best shopping experienceMust be able to work effectively under strict deadlinesKnowledge of Food City policies and proceduresExpertise of all job duties associates must perform in each area of responsibilityAbility to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basisAbility to attend on-site work during normal business hours, in the typical work week, as well as extra time as needed to fulfill job dutiesAbout Food City:Food City is a privately held, family-owned company with a driving mission to "run the best store in town."
