OVERVIEW

Releady is partnering with a leading digital financial services company in the cross-border payments and remittance space to hire an AI Solutions Engineer. This is a hybrid product and engineering role for a practitioner who can sit with the business, define what needs to be built, and then build it. It is neither a facilitation role nor a heads-down development role.

The people, recruiting, and management teams will perform Workday functions through conversational and agentic interfaces - Claude or Slack - instead of navigating the Workday UI. A representative example: a manager asks in natural language to move a team from one manager to another, and the action executes.

The work runs in modules, with discovery and build in parallel. Rather than a full specification up front, the cadence is agreement on a target capability, followed by a working proof of concept, followed by the next. Each module delivers standalone value.

The first phase is as much definition as construction. The people and recruiting functions currently hand the technical team prescribed solutions rather than desired outcomes, and the relationship between those groups is strained. This person will reset that by getting to first principles on what the business is trying to achieve, working alongside the existing internal Workday team as senior guidance.

• Employment Type: Contract, 6 months with potential extension
• Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid) / Remote if out of state or more than 50 miles from office
• Compensation: $100 - $130 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES

Requirements Discovery and Framing

• Establish a repeatable method for translating people and recruiting needs into outcome-based requirements
• Facilitate working sessions with the people team, recruiting leadership, and the internal Workday team
• Map current-state processes and pain points across people operations and recruiting
• Produce a prioritized list of target capabilities defined by end state rather than by proposed solution

Agentic Execution Layer

• Build conversational capability allowing authorized users to perform Workday functions through Claude or Slack
• Design and implement integrations against Workday APIs
• Model permissions and authorization for users acting on systems of record
• Build error and confirmation handling for actions that write to and change records

People Operations Capabilities

• Extend the execution layer across additional people operations functions, sequenced by the priority established in discovery
• Deliver each capability as a working proof of concept that stands on its own

Recruiting Process Capabilities

• Extend the execution layer into the recruiting workflow as a defined later phase
• Apply the same discovery-to-proof-of-concept cadence to recruiting process improvement

Stakeholder Alignment

• Draw out underlying intent from non-technical business stakeholders and reframe prescribed solutions as outcomes
• Explain trade-offs in terms that both business and technical teams accept
• Hold a position on technical direction without escalating friction between groups

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• API integration experience against enterprise SaaS platforms. Workday is highly preferred but not required, as the integration pattern carries over from comparable systems
• Hands-on build capability with agent frameworks and conversational interfaces
• Demonstrated experience drawing requirements out of non-technical business stakeholders and reframing prescribed solutions as outcomes
• Track record in politically complex environments where business and technical teams are misaligned
• Permission and authorization modeling, plus error and confirmation handling for actions that write to systems of record

Preferred

• Direct Workday API and integration experience
• HR technology, HRIS, or recruiting operations background
• Experience delivering proof-of-concept work in short cycles
