Role Description This is a full‑time, on‑site Registered Nurse position located in New York, NY. The Registered Nurse will provide high‑quality patient care, support physicians in executing treatment plans, and maintain accurate medical records. Daily responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring patient progress, and educating patients and their families on care protocols. The role also involves coordinating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure a seamless and compassionate patient experience. Responsibilities and Duties Patient Assessment & Monitoring Fulfilling patient care responsibilities such as taking vital signs, ambulating, bandaging, delivering oxygen, communicating patient concerns to providers in multiple languages as needed, and relaying pertinent post‑procedural and follow‑up instructions to patients. Medication & Treatment: Administer medications (oral, IV, injections) and treatments as prescribed. Respond to emergencies. Collaborate on individualized patient care plans. Monitor patient symptoms, and behavior. Educate patients/families on disease management, treatment, and post‑discharge care. Operating Room Preparing operating rooms and instruments for pain management procedures in accordance with proper aseptic technique, including preparing setups for procedures and drawing up medications. Maintain accurate, detailed reports and information within the electronic health records (EHR) and ensure patient medical history and treatment details are up to date on the Athenahealth EMR system. Document accurately in the EHR (Athenahealth EMR). Oversee Medical Assistants, allocate personnel accordingly, manage patient flow, and make triage decisions to and from exam rooms, ORs, and recovery (PACU). Respond to medical emergencies and initiate life‑saving measures in accordance with ACLS algorithm. Assist providers and physicians during pain management procedures that utilize sedation. Act as observer - under physician supervision - responsible for patient monitoring of the following parameters during moderate sedation: O2 sat, heart rate, blood pressure and respiratory rate. Perform venipuncture, operate centrifuges for processing blood products for regenerative medicine procedures (such as PRP), and collect specimens under physician supervision. Maintain medical equipment by sterilizing designated instruments after use, including autoclave operation and maintenance. Develop SOPs and training resources for new Medical Assistants (MAs). Assist with training new MAs and developing a training checklist tracker to monitor tasks introduced, practiced, and mastered for all MAs in training, ensuring alignment with senior medical assistants. Assist the manager with administrative tasks to maintain smooth and efficient OR operations, including controlled substance management. Support Manager with recruitment, conducting interviews, and selecting new MA candidates. Assist Clinical Operations Manager with conducting quarterly evaluations to determine bonus eligibility for MA staff. Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans. Educate patients on disease management, treatment plans, and post‑discharge care. Administer prescribed medications and treatments. Enter appropriate CPT and ICD‑10 codes in the EMR system to reflect services rendered. Support practice operations by keeping ORs properly supplied; regularly update and maintain inventory of supplies and medications. Manage patient callbacks, directing inquiries to appropriate staff. Administrative Support Clinical Operations Manager with MA recruitment and interviews. Patient Callback Management, calling patients to answer inquiries and directing patient cases to appropriate providers, or departments. Required Skills and Qualifications Education: ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing) or BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) from an accredited program. Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York. Certifications: BLS or CPR certification, ACLS/PALS certification. Experience: Previous clinical experience, typically 1–2 years in a clinic or hospital setting. #J-18808-Ljbffr Hudson Health
