We invite you to become part of our family and contribute to our ongoing success.Summary of Essential DutiesThe Heavy Maintenance Representative serves as Contour Aviation's on-site representative and primary point of contact for assigned heavy maintenance visits, aircraft transitions or conformity events, major repairs, and modification programs. The position integrates work scope, schedule, cost, materials, engineering, quality, records, and vendor performance to support a safe, compliant, on-time, and on-budget return to service.The Representative provides an informed management presence at the maintenance provider while preserving the provider's responsibilities under its certificate. Inspection, Required Inspection Item (RII), maintenance release, or airworthiness release functions may be exercised only when the employee is qualified, current, and specifically authorized under applicable Contour manuals and procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the 6- to 12-month heavy maintenance forecast and confirm provider capacity, labor, hangar space, tooling, materials, and specialized services.Review and stabilize the visit work scope, planning package, contract requirements, company-furnished material, and anticipated engineering, inspection, and records support.Establish pre-induction milestones, critical path, reporting cadence, approval limits, escalation paths, and aircraft delivery requirements.Serve as the primary provider contact; lead daily production reviews and report progress, estimated return to service, open work, shortages, risks, decisions required, and recovery actions.Monitor compliance with the approved work scope, contract, Contour's General Maintenance Manual and maintenance program, applicable technical data, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.Coordinate Planning, Engineering, Materials, Quality, Records, Maintenance Control, Operations, and provider support to remove production constraints and obtain timely technical dispositions.Monitor workmanship, materials, parts traceability, inspection requirements, work-card closure, non-routine records, engineering documents, and required system entries.Evaluate non-routine proposals, labor estimates, materials, outside services, and out-of-pocket charges; approve or route expenditures within delegated authority.Track milestones, budget, and cost-to-complete; review invoices and identify unsupported, duplicate, warranty, rework, or disputed charges.Coordinate aircraft movements, operational checks, engine or APU runs, functional check flights, and delivery activities with authorized personnel.Promptly escalate safety, quality, schedule, cost, or contractual risks to the MRO Director of Maintenance and support corrective or recovery actions.Confirm closure or formal disposition of required work, open or deferred items, records exceptions, parts backorders, delivery conditions, final records, and invoice packages before aircraft acceptance.Prepare a post-visit report and vendor scorecard covering schedule, cost, major findings, quality results, open actions, and recommended improvementsPromote safety within the workplace by adhering to all safety standards and reporting potential hazards.Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.Physical RequirementsFrequent stooping, bending, and kneeling.Ability to stand on feet for extended periods.Lift and carry objects up to 70 pounds regularly, up to 100+ pounds occasionally (with assistance).Perform work at elevated heights or in varying weather conditions.Ability to climb stairs, scaffolding, and/or ladders of varying heights without assistance.Ability to work in cramped spaces and awkward positions as required.Tolerance to noise, vibration, and outdoor weather conditions.Ability to wear protective gear such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.Work EnvironmentAbility to travel up to 75%, including extended assignments at maintenance-provider locations.Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, holidays, irregular shifts, and overtime based on aircraft delivery requirements.Work is performed in offices, hangars, on ramps, and aboard aircraft, with exposure to aircraft noise, vibration, fumes, airborne particles, weather, and moving equipment.Must use required personal protective equipment and comply with all company and facility safety rules.QualificationsMust be at least 23 years of age.FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification.Ability to read and interpret FAA regulations, technical manuals, and maintenance documentation in English.Minimum of 10 years’ of transport-category aircraft maintenance, inspection, or quality experience in a Part 121, Part 135, Part 145, or comparable military environment.Minimum of 3 years’ on ERJ-135/140/145 and/or CRJ-200 aircraft.Minimum of 5 years’ of heavy maintenance, heavy-check inspection, technical representative, or maintenance-provider oversight experience.Strong organizational and troubleshooting skillsMust be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to travel in and out of the country without restrictions.Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently; proficiency in Spanish is a plus but not required.High school diploma or GED certification preferred.Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products, including Office 365, Excel, Outlook, and Word; familiarity with similar software applications is also required.Meet applicable FAA recent-experience requirements before exercising certificate privileges.Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance programs, technical manuals, work cards, non-routine processes, regulatory records, parts documentation, and return-to-service requirements.Formal ERJ-135/140/145 and/or CRJ-200 General Familiarization training, or the ability to complete company-required training before independent assignment.Previous experience as an air carrier heavy maintenance representative, technical representative, quality inspector, maintenance supervisor, or check manager.Experience with vendor contracts, non-routine approvals, invoice validation, budget forecasting, and maintenance-provider performance management.Experience with aircraft conformity or transition projects, aging-aircraft inspections, major repairs or modifications, and complex records reviews.Current or previous RII authorization, borescope qualification, or other inspection qualifications relevant to Contour's fleet and programs.Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and vendor personnel without relying on direct reporting authority.Ability to type a minimum of 30 words per minute.Possess polished and professional interpersonal skills with a positive, customer-focused attitude.Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.Ability to effectively interact with a variety of personalities while maintaining a high level of professionalism.Skilled in coordinating multiple priorities, managing deadlines, and working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Ability to handle interruptions and changing priorities with flexibility and a strong attention to detail.Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others.Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team-oriented environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, delivered with professionalism and tact.Must pass a DOT-required pre-employment drug screening and be willing to submit to and pass FAA and Company-mandated random drug and alcohol testing.Ability to pass a 10-year work history background check, as well as criminal history and fingerprint checks, as required by the TSA.Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular shifts as operational needs dictate.Must adhere to all safety regulations and work in a professional manner, complying with OSHA, EPA, state, and federal regulatory requirements.Disclaimer: The above statements are intended only to describe the general nature and level of work required for the referenced position;
