Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) a high-acuity position located in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment. This role involves providing comprehensive emergency patient care in a fast-paced setting with a wide variety of trauma and medical cases. The RN will be integral to the clinical team, supporting trauma, stroke, STEMI, burn, and other critical patient interventions.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN licensure, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course); 2 years of emergency room experience; Applicants must have at least 3+ years of Level 1 trauma center experience to be considered as a first-time traveler.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with trauma, stroke, STEMI, burn units, and rapid response protocols.
• Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Trauma including gunshot wounds, stabbings, multi-trauma, motor vehicle collisions, myocardial infarctions, strokes, hypothermia, drownings, falls, cardiac and respiratory arrests, overdoses, psychosis, pacing, ventilator management, and sexual assaults.
• Patient Ratios: RN: 3-1 to 6-1 depending on clinical area and acuity; LPN: 4-1 to 6-1 based on clinical area and acuity.
• Support within the Department: ED techs performing vital signs and ADLs, unit secretary, charge nurse, 24/7 critical care pharmacist, paramedic staff, resource nurse, teletrauma monitoring, hospitalist, intensivist, and SANE coordinator.
• Technology/Equipment: Epic electronic medical record system, Alaris infusion pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing system, Philips monitors, GE Ultrasound for point-of-care imaging, GE EKG machines.
• Floating: Possible float to Transition Care Unit.
• Orientation: 2 days departmental orientation at the facility.
• Additional Notes: Scrub color is royal blue; parking is free.
