Position Qualifications Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial construction with an MEPF/building controls contractor, general contractor, and/or Cx agency. Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience, preferably in Facilities Management, Mechanical, Electrical, construction management, Engineering, or MEP Construction Management. Valid driver’s license. Ability to communicate complex issues effectively in written and oral formats to clients. Experience with P6 and/or MS Project. Team‑player who can function in a high performance environment. Strong knowledge of facilities operations and building systems. Ability to work collaboratively in a mobile work environment. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Project, Word, SharePoint) and Adobe Cloud. Strong project management skills. Ability to recognize, troubleshoot, document, and optimize facilities processes. Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret financial data related to facilities. Good understanding of critical facility environments, including hospitals, airports, and data centers. Essential Duties Work on behalf of, and in concert, with the Hensel Phelps Construction Co. teams. Interface, coordinate, and directly manage the associated MEPF trade partners through plan development, inspections, and ultimately the Cx testing process. Utilize standard MEPF/building controls testing procedures and applicable tools to perform testing. Manage a team of individuals to deliver the Operational Project Readiness (OPR) and be the primary driver of Commissioning Management (CxM) services on multiple projects. Review contract documents for constructability, operability, and functionality. Develop project‑specific commissioning and execution plans per Hensel Phelps templates and contract documents. Create and maintain Cx schedules based on CPM milestones and the scheduling program required by contract documents. Establish testing/certification requirements for each piece of equipment and manage documentation through the Cx software platform. Review Level 2 and 3 Cx Scripts. Oversee implementation of Cx progress visual tracking/status tools. Lead project Cx team meetings, communicating schedule, sequencing, constraints, and issues. Document MEPF equipment inspections and testing; track and drive issue resolution to support start‑up and commissioning. Manage the delivery and document control of Cx progress via the commissioning software platform. Coordinate and manage Level 4/5 Cx testing on behalf of Hensel Phelps Construction Co. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Work Requirements Heavy work: may exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, or 20 pounds constantly. Walk, kneel, sit, crouch, reach, stoop, read/see, speak, push, pull, lift, stand, and type as required. Walk frequently around the job site. Operate computer or tablet and other office machinery. Communicate with employees and external stakeholders. Read written communications, blueprints, and take/verify field measurements. Climb and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps. Maintain balance to prevent falling while walking, standing, or crouching. Bend the spine at the waist (stooping). Reach arm and hand(s) in any direction for varied durations. Grasp objects with fingers and palm regularly. Maintain visual acuity and drive vehicle if required. Occasionally exposed to high and low temperatures. Frequently exposed to noise and outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
