Our team is seeking personable and motivated Top Talent to support the company’s warehouse team as a Warehouse Supervisor located in our Wilmington, MA facility. The Warehouse Supervisor will play a crucial role in overseeing the receipt, storage, distribution, and quality control of flooring materials. This position requires strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, and a keen eye for detail to ensure the efficient functioning of our warehouse and the warehouse team. Responsibilities: Team Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of warehouse associates, providing guidance and support to ensure their performance and development. Assign tasks and responsibilities, set priorities, and manage workloads to achieve operational goals. Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control activities, including receiving, inspecting, storing, and organizing goods within the warehouse. Implement inventory management best practices to maintain accurate stock levels and minimize discrepancies. Order Fulfillment: Coordinate order processing, picking, packing, and shipping to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders. Monitor order progress, resolve issues, and ensure on-time delivery to meet customer expectations. Quality Control: Establish and enforce quality control standards to ensure that products meet company specifications and customer requirements. Conduct regular quality checks, inspections, and audits to identify and address any deviations. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline warehouse processes, improve efficiency, and reduce operational costs. Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimize workflow and ensure consistency. Equipment and Facility Management: Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyors. Collaborate with maintenance teams to address equipment issues and maintain a safe working environment. Vendor and Customer Relations: Communicate with suppliers and vendors to coordinate deliveries, manage returns, and resolve any supply chain issues. Address customer inquiries, concerns, and order-related issues in a professional and timely manner. Safety and Compliance: Promote and enforce a culture of safety, adhering to occupational health and safety regulations and company policies. Conduct safety training, implement safety procedures, and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory, shipments, and other warehouse-related activities. Generate reports on key performance metrics, inventory levels, and operational efficiency. Staff Development: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for warehouse associates to enhance their skills and knowledge. Conduct performance evaluations, offer constructive feedback, and support career growth within the team. Address operational challenges, resolve discrepancies, and handle unexpected issues that may arise within the warehouse. Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, sales, and customer service, to ensure smooth coordination of activities and information sharing. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is a plus. Proven experience in warehouse operations, preferably within the construction or building materials industry. Strong knowledge of walling and flooring materials, construction terminology, and industry-specific warehouse practices. Excellent leadership skills and the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively. Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant technology. Solid understanding of inventory management, order processing, and quality control procedures. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective team and stakeholder interactions. Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs. and carry 50lbs. Forklift certification and experience operating warehouse equipment preferred. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse environment. Hours of work: This is a full-time Monday-Friday position, with typical working hours being 7:00am – 4:00pm. Occasional variations in working hours may be required to meet inventory deadlines or accommodate business needs. Overtime or weekend work may be necessary in such cases. Travel: No travel is expected with this position. What do we offer?
