Job Description
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for estimates.
- Identify labor, material, and time requirements for projects.
- Prepare and present cost summaries and proposals to stakeholders.
- Review and adjust estimates to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
- Research and source reliable cost data and vendor pricing.
- Maintain records of past projects to assist in future estimating efforts.
- Support the construction team in managing budgets and controlling costs.
A successful Construction Estimator should have:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with cost estimation methods and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software for cost estimation and budgeting.
- Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
