Senior Mental Health Specialist

Position OverviewSCOPE OF ROLE:Traditional ACT teams are multi-disciplinary teams consisting of 68 clients, who are seen twice per week by varying members of the team. Flexible ("Flex") ACT Teams consist of 100 clients, 40 of whom are considered "ACT Lite", and receive two to five visits per month in comparison to six to eight for traditional clients. The ACT Lite team consists of a small team of two specialists, LPN, peer staff and Psych Provider. The Flex Lite component focuses on graduation and transitioning clients to outpatient treatment and supporting them around independence and community integration.The Senior Mental Health Specialist is an experienced professional responsible for providing expertise and guidance in the field of mental health treatment and harm reduction strategies. They play a crucial role in creating, implementing, and evaluating transition plans for clients who are ready to step-down to a lower level of care or graduate from the team altogether, as well as providing support and guidance to other professionals in the field. They are the lead clinician for the clients on Flex ACT identified on the ACT Lite caseload, shared amongst a small team of 5 staff.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Clinical SkillsSupport and educate staff around best practices for transition and recovery, including treatment modalities and harm reduction strategies.Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff, community workers, and stakeholders on best practices for transition and recovery, including the latest research, treatment modalities, and harm reduction strategies.Have a strong understanding of substance use disorder assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planningConducts transition needs assessments amongst individuals servedExtensive knowledge of evidence-based practices, treatment modalities, and harm reduction strategiesData and AccountabilityDevelops, conducts, and monitors treatment interventions for specific target populations and ensure these interventions are incorporated into treatment plansPerforms consumer centered, comprehensive assessments to determine needed services for all consumers; develops both initial and ongoing treatment plans; assigns the most appropriate staff to the individual treatment team and actively participates in all activities in revising treatment plans as the participant's needs changeConducts qualitative field visits to ensure consumers needs are concerns are being met in their living environmentComplete Progress Notes, which should be entered into system within 24-48hrs of event dateSupport around facilitating groups, as needed.Job RequirementsREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE· Must be a LICENSED clinician and meet criteria for professional staff / licensed practitioner of healing arts based on ACT Guidelines (ie: LMHC, LMSW, LMFT, licensed Psychologist)· Master's degree in social work, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, or a related field· Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills· Must have 2 years or more experience working with dually diagnosed individualsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS· Proficient in MS Word/Excel· Bilingual in any language a plus not required.· Strong clinical skills and knowledge base of clinical care standards· Strong organizational skills and timely follow-up to manage complex tasksCompany OverviewS:US IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYERJoin a team of employees who care about the wellbeing of others.
