Psychiatrist

The University of Rochester Department of Psychiatry is seeking a full-time psychiatrist to join the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) at Strong Memorial Hospital. This role includes an academic appointment at the rank of clinical senior instructor, assistant professor, or associate professor within the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. The clinician will provide acute psychiatric care as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team while engaging in the teaching and clinical supervision of psychiatric residents and medical students. Practice Info Sited at Strong Memorial Hospital at the University of Rochester Medical Center Emergency psychiatry setting within the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) Over 9,000 visits per year providing emergency psychiatric services to the community in Western New York 24/7 interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, RNs, and social workers Encompasses a dedicated behavioral health space immediately adjacent to the Emergency Department, an Extended Observation Beds unit, a Mobile Crisis Team, and a Crisis Stabilization Hub Responsibilities Provide acute psychiatric care in an emergency psychiatry setting Work as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team together with psychiatrists, trainees, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and clinical evaluators Provide teaching and clinical supervision of psychiatric residents and medical students Compensation Sr. Instructor total compensation range: $209,000 - $260,264 Assistant Professor total compensation range: $221,350 - $287,611 Associate Professor total compensation range: $243,200 - $315,271 Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable Shift & Schedule Full-time Qualifications Must possess an MD or equivalent Must be board certified or board eligible Must obtain NYS licensure prior to start Must have an unrestricted DEA Must be committed to working to be "Ever Better" while employing our ICARE values of integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, excellence Must secure an individual DEA Required to complete a post-offer health assessment and drug test at the University's Employee Health site in Rochester, NY at least one month prior to start Open to visa sponsorship
