Full-Time Housekeeper

Full-Time Live-Out Housekeeper Position in Newburgh, NY with Full Benefits!

Position: Full-Time Live-In or Live-Out Housekeeper
Schedule: Monday-Friday, approximately 8:30 AM-4:00/4:30 PM
Salary: $35-$40 per hour (based on experience) with health insurance, 401k, and PTO!
Start Date: Ideally beginning of September but trial next week if possible
About the Family

A welcoming family in Newburgh, NY is seeking a reliable and proactive full-time housekeeper to maintain their primary residence and provide light upkeep for a second home nearby belonging to the employer's father.

The family's primary residence is under 4,000 sq. ft. and includes the parents and their 5-year-old child. The father's home is also under 4,000 sq. ft. but is not a full-time residence; he is only there approximately 15 days per year. Responsibilities at the second home will include keeping the home maintained, dusting, taking out mail/trash, checking the property, and notifying the family if repairs or maintenance are needed.

The family currently employs a wonderful full-time nanny and is looking for someone who can become a trusted part of their household team. Their current housekeeper is relocating and they are looking for someone long-term who can take ownership of the role.

Children: One child, age 5
Pets: No pets
Household Staff: Full-time nanny
Responsibilities

• Maintain the primary residence with thorough cleaning of all rooms and bathrooms
• Change beds, manage laundry, linens, and ironing
• Dust, polish, organize, and maintain household spaces
• Keep toys, closets, and household areas organized
• Manage household supplies and restocking
• Take out garbage and handle light errands (dry cleaning, post office, etc.)
• Maintain outdoor patio areas seasonally
• Provide light upkeep/occasional full cleaning and monitoring of the secondary residence nearby
• Communicate any maintenance needs or repairs
• Take initiative in identifying areas that need attention without being asked
• Occasionally assist with child-related needs, such as helping with school pickup or providing backup support when the nanny is unavailable

Ideal Candidate & Personality

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who naturally notices what needs to be done and takes pride in maintaining a beautiful, organized home. The family is looking for someone who does not need to be micromanaged and can confidently manage household responsibilities independently.

A warm, easy-going personality is important, as the candidate will work alongside a nanny and occasionally interact with their 5-year-old child. Someone who enjoys being around children and is comfortable allowing the child to participate in age-appropriate household activities would be a great fit.

The family values someone who is dependable, trustworthy, organized, and interested in building a long-term relationship.
Requirements

• Previous professional housekeeping experience in private homes
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to independently manage household responsibilities
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
• Comfortable running occasional errands
• Comfortable with occasional child-related support
• Available Monday-Friday full-time
