Clinical Dietician

Job Description This role involves providing essential dietary and nutritional support to incarcerated individuals and patients through individualized consultation, assessment and follow‑up care. Key Responsibilities Recommend modified diets, snacks and other dietary accommodations based on medical indications. Provide nutritional education for diabetes, hyperlipidemia, weight management, hypertension, and other nutrition-related topics. Serve as a liaison between the Iowa Medical and Classification Center (IMCC) Dietary and Health Services Department. Complete nutrition assessments for all new admissions to the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital within the allotted time frame and audit patient meal trays monthly to ensure compliance with dietary guidelines. Document all dietetic and nutrition‑related encounters and audit findings accurately. Employment Eligibility The State of Iowa participates in E‑Verify, a federal program that helps employers confirm the employment eligibility of all newly hired employees. Within the required timeframe, new hires will be verified through the E‑Verify system to ensure authorization to work in the United States.
