Clinical Social Worker (40 Hour)

Position Details Clinical Social Worker at York Correctional Institution, a high‑security women’s facility in East Lyme, CT. Full‑time (40 hrs/week) second shift Monday‑Friday 2:00 pm‑10:00 pm with rotating weekend and holiday shifts. Provide intake assessments, individual psychotherapy, crisis management, suicide risk assessment, case management services, collaborative discharge planning, and research‑driven programming within a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities Develop psychosocial assessments through clinical interviews with clients and families, considering developmental, social, cultural, substance abuse, psychological, environmental, and medical issues. Create measurable treatment plans with objectives. Provide clinical treatment services including triage, crisis intervention, individual, group and family therapy, screening and planning. Advocate and build networks of social and clinical services to meet client needs. Monitor and evaluate treatment plan effectiveness and document in clinical records. Complete reports according to agency and accrediting bodies. Supervise licensed master social workers. Collaborate with other health providers to improve service delivery. Provide forensic evaluations and court testimony as required. Maintain social work treatment and standards as required. Participate in research projects and related duties. Qualifications Licensure as a clinical social worker in the State of Connecticut. Knowledge of social work methodology, casework, group work, community mobilization, family and interpersonal dynamics, ethics, and relevant social, cultural, economic, medical, psychological, and legal issues. Interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Ability to devise and implement a treatment plan with measurable goals. Experience in crisis intervention, behavior management, individual and group psychotherapy. Experience in correctional or forensic behavioral health treatment. Experience with criminal justice‑involved adults. Special Requirements Must possess and retain a license to practice clinical social work pursuant to Sec. 20‑195 (m‑z) of the Connecticut General Statutes. Must possess and maintain eligibility for participation in federal healthcare programs as defined in 42 U.S. § 1320a‑7b(f). May be required to have knowledge of sign language and communication ability with the deaf and hearing impaired in certain designated positions. May be required to have ability in Spanish oral and written communication in certain designated positions. May be required to travel.
