Provides nursing care before and after angiography and associated lower-extremity endovascular

procedures, including patient assessment, preparation, post-procedure monitoring, discharge

evaluation, education, and response to changes in patient condition.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current Texas RN license or multistate privilege to practice in Texas.

• Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred).

• Recent experience in pre/post-procedure care, cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology,

vascular procedures, PACU, critical care, or a comparable setting.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform and document pre-procedure and post-procedure nursing assessments.

• Verify patient readiness, required documentation, physician orders, medications, allergies, and

relevant clinical information.

• Prepare patients for procedures and provide appropriate patient education.

• Administer medications and treatments as ordered and within RN scope of practice.

• Monitor post-procedure recovery, including vital signs, access site, distal extremity status, pain, and

overall clinical condition.

• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition and promptly notify the physician as

indicated.

• Evaluate discharge readiness and provide discharge instructions.

• Coordinate and supervise nursing care provided by LVNs and assistive personnel as applicable.

• Complete required documentation and clinical handoffs.
