Weekend Occupational Therapist PRN

Methodist Health System is seeking a Weekend Occupational Therapist PRN to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team, providing high-quality rehabilitative care to patients across our hospitals and clinics in Texas. In this role, you will deliver compassionate, patient-centered occupational therapy services primarily on weekends, helping individuals regain or enhance their ability to perform daily activities following illness, injury, or surgery. You will conduct comprehensive evaluations, develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, and adjust interventions based on each patient’s functional status, goals, and response to therapy. Working within a collaborative and inclusive environment that values integrity, compassion, and accountability, you will partner closely with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists, social workers, and case managers to coordinate safe, effective, and timely care. Responsibilities include performing detailed assessments of motor, cognitive, and functional abilities; documenting findings and treatment in the electronic medical record; educating patients and families on home programs, adaptive techniques, and use of assistive equipment; and contributing to discharge recommendations and home safety planning. You will adhere to all regulatory, infection control, and safety standards while managing a dynamic weekend caseload that may include acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient consults depending on facility needs. As a PRN therapist, you will have flexibility in scheduling while supporting weekend coverage needs, stepping in to meet patient volume demands and ensuring continuity of care.
