Step into a rewarding opportunity serving students across all grade levels in a supportive educational environment. This is a full-time, district-wide assignment covering an FMLA maternity leave, with a strong possibility of extension beyond the initial 12 weeks. The role is open to Occupational Therapists (OT) as well as Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) holding active Connecticut licensure.
What We’re Seeking:
- Active Connecticut OT license (or COTA certification and Connecticut DPH License, having passed the NBCOT Exam)
- School-based OT/COTA experience is highly preferred
- Comfortable working with pre-K through 12th-grade students with diverse needs
- Reliable transportation to access multiple school locations throughout the district
- Willingness to commit fully to a temporary maternity leave coverage, understanding that an extension is possible but not guaranteed
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students from early childhood through high school
- Collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers to support student progress
- Implement individualized treatment plans and interventions based on student IEPs and established goals
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation of services and student growth
- For COTAs: Support therapy delivery under the supervision and direction of an Occupational Therapist as required by state guidelines
