Construction Superintendent

Position Summary Harlan Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee and coordinate all on-site construction activities. The Superintendent will be responsible for managing field operations, directing subcontractors and craft personnel, maintaining project schedules, enforcing safety requirements, and ensuring high-quality project delivery. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong communication skills, extensive field experience, and a commitment to safety, quality, and client satisfaction. Manage day-to-day field operations on commercial and industrial construction projects. Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and company personnel. Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and according to project specifications. Develop and maintain look-ahead schedules and daily work plans. Conduct site inspections to monitor quality, progress, and compliance. Enforce company safety policies and project-specific safety requirements. Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and site orientations. Coordinate deliveries, equipment, manpower, and site logistics. Communicate project updates, issues, and schedule impacts to Project Management. Identify and proactively resolve field conflicts and construction challenges. Review plans and specifications to ensure proper execution of work. Manage punch lists and project closeout activities. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of Superintendent experience in commercial, industrial, or heavy construction. Strong understanding of construction means and methods. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules. Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades. Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment. Proficient with basic computer applications including Microsoft Office. Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record. Preferred Qualifications OSHA 30 Certification. First Aid/CPR Certification. Experience with industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, utility projects, or process facilities. Experience with Procore or similar construction management software.Knowledge of quality control procedures and project documentation. Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to walk job sites, climb ladders, and navigate active construction environments. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to travel to project sites as required.
