Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | 36 or 48 hours per week available | 13-week contracts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a post open heart recovery unit, including management of post-cardiac surgery patients arriving directly from the OR
• Care for patients undergoing thoracotomies, esophagogastrectomies, and TAVR procedures
• Manage and monitor advanced hemodynamic devices including IABP, Impella, ECMO, LVAD/RVAD, and Pulmonary Artery/Swan-Ganz lines
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, manage continuous IV sedation, and provide care for ventilated patients
• Interpret and respond to dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases (ABGs); manage arterial lines and central lines
• Float to other units or areas within the facility as required; work every other weekend

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of critical care (CC) experience required; CVICU or open heart experience required
• Active RN license in NC or a Compact state (pending licensure accepted for submission)
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency with CRRT, IABP, Impella, ECMO, and ventricular assist devices (LVAD/RVAD)
• Experience with blood product administration, isolation precautions/PPE, and central line care and management
• Familiarity with EPIC, PYXIS, and SBAR communication framework

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience accessing and managing ports and titrating vasoactive drips
• Ability to assist with chest tube insertion and removal
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and advanced ventilator management
