Position Summary

Location: Lynn, MA
Shift: 1st Shift (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
Pay Rate: $19.00/hour
Requesting Dates: 07/23/2026, 07/30/2026, 08/06/2026, 08/11/2026, and 08/17/2026

The Grill Cook supports high-volume BBQ catering operations by preparing and grilling food at client locations while maintaining exceptional food quality and customer service. This role is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving food according to standardized recipes and company standards, maintaining a clean and organized grilling station, and following all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures. The ideal candidate works efficiently in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly in English, presents professionally in client-facing settings, and takes pride in delivering high-quality food and service.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Grilling

• Prepare, season, and grill meats, vegetables, and other menu items according to standardized recipes and company specifications.
• Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food quality, consistency, and food safety.
• Assemble and serve food while maintaining presentation and portion standards.
• Properly store food products before, during, and after service, ensuring items are labeled, dated, and handled in compliance with food safety protocols.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to follow standardized recipes accurately.
• Work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced outdoor catering environment.
• Understand and adhere to food safety and sanitation principles.
• May assist with food preparation before and after grilling operations as needed.

Event Support & Organization

• Assist with loading, unloading, setting up, and breaking down grills, equipment, and supplies at client locations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of grilling stations, food preparation areas, equipment, and serving areas throughout each event.
• Adhere strictly to all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient, timely food preparation and service.
• Travel to and from event locations using company-provided transportation.

Quality & Safety

• Follow company standards and procedures for food handling, labeling, and temperature control.
• Maintain compliance with all state and local food safety requirements.
• Report any food quality or safety concerns immediately to management.
• Continuously monitor and document food temperatures as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment throughout each event.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts Food Handler Card required (SERV Safe certification is a plus).
• 1–2 years of grill cook, line cook, catering, or commercial kitchen experience preferred.
• Experience working in high-volume food service or outdoor catering environments is highly desirable.
• Basic grilling, knife, and food preparation skills are required.
• The ability to read production sheets, follow recipes, and prepare food accurately is necessary.
• Strong English communication skills are required, as this is a client-facing position.
• Professional appearance, positive attitude, and excellent customer service skills are required.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, and kneel.
• Exert well-paced mobility for shifts up to 8 hours per day.
• Load and unload grills, equipment, and food supplies.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions around hot grills and cooking equipment.
• Work in conditions with hazards including heat, burns, cuts, scrapes, and prolonged standing.
