Computed Tomography Technologist - Night Shift

We are seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to independently perform imaging procedures. This role involves utilizing established scan protocols and applying ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes with a high level of judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform computed tomography procedures with established scan protocols, including contrast administration.
• Utilize complex imaging equipment for data acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation.
• Demonstrate proper venipuncture techniques and use of power injectors per departmental and manufacturer protocols.
• Administer PO, rectal, and IV contrast in accordance with physician orders and assess patients for potential risks prior to administration.
• Engage effectively with patients and co-workers, demonstrating care, listening, dignity, and respect.
• Communicate clear and concise instructions to patients to help alleviate fears and encourage cooperation.
• Ensure proper patient identification and adherence to universal protocols during procedures.
• Review patient history and physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal data acquisition.
• Document patient history in electronic records and ensure accurate coding, tracking, and archiving of exams.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of accredited CNMT program.
• CT registry must be obtained within 18 months of the date of hire, or if already acquired, prior to employment.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a radiology setting is required.
• Current ARRT Certificate and Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Compliance with PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, and PA Act 73 required.

Schedule

This position involves working a night shift encompassing 12 hours for 3 days a week.
