This position focuses on providing speech and language support within a dynamic, inclusive middle school environment, working with students who have a range of communication needs. Familiarity and comfort with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is essential.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Active SLP, SLP-CCC, or SLPA license for schools
  • Previous experience with middle school-aged students preferred
  • Strong foundation in AAC devices and communication strategies
  • Excellent collaboration skills with teachers, families, and support staff
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Enthusiastic about fostering an engaging learning atmosphere

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assess speech, language, and communication skills of students and identify individualized needs
  • Deliver direct and consultative therapy services, integrating AAC technology as appropriate
  • Develop and carry out individualized education program (IEP) goals related to speech and language
  • Monitor student progress, adjust interventions, and track outcomes for ongoing success
  • Engage in case conferences and collaborate with educational teams and families
  • Share expertise with staff on communication strategies and best practices
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation in accordance with school guidelines
