Shift: Night Shift | 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in Columbia, South Carolina. This opportunity is ideal for nurses with strong trauma and telemetry experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced progressive care environment caring for post-surgical trauma patients.
Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adult progressive care and trauma patients
• Monitor and assess patients requiring telemetry and post-surgical care
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Maintain accurate patient documentation within the EMR system
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU RN experience required
• First-time travelers must have at least 2 years of experience
• Active RN license required
• Required Certifications:
  • AHA BLS
  • AHA ACLS
  • NIHSS
  • Telemetry competency
• Medication test required
• Strong trauma and post-surgical patient care experience preferred

Schedule & Additional Information

• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Weekend requirement:
  • 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• No block scheduling available

Patient Population & Clinical Experience

This unit primarily cares for adult trauma and surgical patients requiring progressive care and telemetry monitoring. Common patient populations include:

• Motor vehicle accident trauma
• Falls
• Assault-related injuries
• Penetrating trauma and gunshot wounds
• Post-surgical trauma recovery patients
