Hardware Engineering Architect

Salary: $85,000 - 125,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related discipline; a masters degree is preferred
• 15+ years of experience in data center system or server architecture
• Proven track record leading concept-phase architecture for AI and server products
• Ability to investigate unfamiliar technologies and assess their technical feasibility
• Familiarity with Intel, AMD, Nvidia, or ARM CPU/GPU architectures, with a solid grasp of performance, I/O, thermal, footprint, and power optimization
• Working knowledge of PCB materials and construction methods, including insertion loss, via design, stack-ups, and power plane sizing
• Broad understanding of voltage regulator architectures, efficiency, thermal behavior, and critical VR components
• Experience using industry-standard ECAD tools to review layouts and schematics
• Strong fluency across mechanical, firmware, software, and thermal domains
• Strategic, system-level mindset with strong leadership and cross-functional coordination skills
• Ability to communicate technical trade-offs clearly and justify design recommendations
• Experience estimating NRE and refining high-level requirements
• English fluency and comfort working with global teams and customers

• Lead system-level architecture planning for server and AI platforms, including product configuration, functional partitioning, and feasibility alignment for mechanical, thermal, power, and cooling considerations
• Define system requirements, interface specifications, and early configuration choices for GPU, accelerator, storage, and compute server solutions
• Perform architecture trade-off analysis across performance, cost, power, scalability, and manufacturability
• Partner with electrical, thermal, mechanical, BMC, and firmware architects to assemble a complete product concept package
• Collaborate with architecture and business unit teams to assess RFQ and RFI needs and develop competitive proposals
• Establish system topologies, mechanical footprints, airflow concepts, I/O mappings, and cabling strategies
• Engage with customers and internal stakeholders to align design intent and value proposition during the concept stage
• Prepare and present concept proposals, including block diagrams, design direction, trade-off summaries, and risk assessments
• Lead internal and customer-facing design reviews to secure architecture alignment and requirement approval
