Onsite Position Information Posting Number S1522026 Department Name Torreyson Library Funding Type UCA Student Help Position Summary Torreyson Library Student Employees will assist with the library’s mission to support the research and educational needs of the University of Central Arkansas’s ( UCA ) students, faculty and staff. Library Student Employee positions assist full-time staff in covering the work of the library’s many departments and services, in both public-facing roles and behind-the-scenes technical work. Shifts may include daytime, nighttime, and/or weekend hours. Library Student Employee positions require strong attention to detail, work ethic, confidentiality, multi-tasking, and willingness to learn and contribute as part of a team. On-the-job training may include job shadowing, independent reading, online tutorials, and small group workshops. Job Duties and Responsibilities Staff the library’s front desk. Assist patrons by locating and checking materials and equipment in and out of the library. Assist patrons with study room bookings and the use of computers, scanners, printing and faxing. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Assist with opening and closing the building as needed. Answer questions and assist library patrons. Retrieving and reshelving items such as books, DVDs or journals from library shelves. Scanning articles and book chapters. Preparing items for patron checkout. Preparing items for shipping to other libraries. Organizing packing supplies and office materials. Light cleaning and dusting, including books on the shelves. Other duties as assigned.
