HVAC Controls Design Engineer

Position: HVAC Controls Engineer

C&J Building Solutions is looking for a HVAC Controls Engineer. As a Controls Engineer you will be responsible for managing and developing the hardware drawings, submittals, as builds and software for small, mid, & complex installations or service projects. The Controls Engineer will support the Controls Project Manager and Sales Team as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· High level of focus on Safety and use of Personal Protective Equipment on all Sites inclusive of ensuring any employee or subcontractor follows safety procedures.

· Integrity focused by doing the right thing in any situation.

· Being proactive in Communication both internal and external.

· Development of engineering to generate submittals & software to meet the intent of the project.

· Coordinate with other vendors or departments to ensure controls engineering is accurate.

· Selects products as required to meet project design and the procurement & tracking of material orders.

· Provides installation guidance to subcontractors, technicians, & others as required.

· Jobsite communication and coordination with other trades.

· Write and Download controller software as needed.

· Ensure programming and commissioning get completed per design and on schedule.

· Work with customer IT departments as required for system integration.

· Work with commissioning agents as needed for system verification.

· Perform customer training as needed.

· Responsible for project file organization, compiling field changes to generate operations & maintenance manuals and as built / closeout drawings for projects.

· Respond to warranty calls.

· Pursue Change Orders when practical.

· Complete administrative tasks such as project documentation, weekly timesheet & expenditures.

· Strong understanding of HVAC Control operation, processes and systems.

· Proficient in understanding Mechanical and Electrical drawings as well as specifications for projects.

· Participates in job take-offs and estimate reviews as required.

· Other duties as required by management.

Requirements:

Bachelor's or associate degree in related field and / or 2 years or more years of direct HVAC controls engineering experience.

Valid Driver's License and pre-employment drug screening

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $40.00 per hour
