Spacecraft Flight Software Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable flight software governing spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule operations throughout missions.
• Write structured C++ software for bare-metal, RTOS-based, and Linux-based embedded processors.
• Own software design, testing, integration, verification, and validation.
• Scope projects, capture requirements, and perform initial design trades for open-ended problems.
• Support software quality and performance through testing, verification, and validation techniques.
• Collaborate with the team to communicate and solve problems.
• Provide software support across development and flight operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, physics, or engineering, or equivalent technical experience in safety-critical software.
• At least 3 years of experience developing spacecraft or similar safety-critical software.
• Experience developing in C++ with a strong understanding of its language concepts.
• Preferred: end-to-end experience building and launching a spacecraft.
• Preferred: experience developing and testing real-time embedded systems and safety-critical aerospace software.
• Preferred: experience with CCSDS telemetry and telecommand systems, F' or cFS, Python or Rust, basic analog and digital electronics, and SPI, I2C, CAN, or EtherCAT.
