Come talk to us about joining the Centerstone team! JOB DESCRIPTION: SUMMARY OF POSITION Provides psychiatric nursing care to clients in crisis in the Walk-In Center and Crisis Stabilization Unit. Provides medication administration, monitoring and follow-up per provider’s order. Provides information, education, and support to individuals in crisis that promote wellness and recovery. PRN Varied shifts ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Monitors vitals, performs lab testing. Obtain and enters orders into EMR from authorized prescriber. Administers and gives medications to patients, monitors the dosage, side effects, use and documents patients’ reactions. Provides medication training to the guest or guest’s family/guardian to administer the guest’s medication, to monitor proper levels of dosage and watch for side effects. Oversee the administering of nursing needs of guests. Performs as a liaison role between guests and the authorized prescriber, pharmacist, family, and/or collateral support systems. Observes guests on a day-to-day basis and provides documentation in the EMR. Provides group or individual education as needed. Participates and/or leads staff meetings and training as scheduled or necessary. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods. Performs basic electronic medical record computer skills. Detail oriented with effective problem-solving skills Possesses leadership skills Knowledge base in psychotropic medications. Skill in crisis intervention.
