Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Water Design Engineer in the Washington D.C. area to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong foundation in design who is eager to contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater systems, with a focus on producing high-quality, practical engineering solutions. Responsibilities & Qualifications Responsibilities: Perform engineering design and consulting for water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects. Prepare hydraulic and hydrologic calculations to support system design, including pipe rehabilitation and pump systems. Develop detailed technical drawings and specifications, including manholes, grading plans, and erosion and sediment control measures. Support the planning, design, and rehabilitation of conveyance systems, odor control facilities, and combined sewer systems. Conduct infrastructure condition assessments and assist with rehabilitation strategies. Assist with permitting, cost estimating, and preparation of construction contract documents. Coordinate with subconsultants and collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams. Participate in projects as a team member and take the lead on specific technical design tasks as needed. Present project updates and deliverables to clients. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required. 3–6 years of experience in water, wastewater, and/or stormwater engineering. Strong experience in detailed design, including pipelines, manholes, pump systems, and grading plans. Understanding of soil conditions and erosion and sediment control practices. EIT required; PE license or ability to obtain within one year strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to take a design from concept through final documentation. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with a client-focused mindset. Additional Information T.Y. Lin International is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of$81,200-$121,800 annually for this position and local market.
