AEMT | Emergency Department Health Unit Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate patient care and support within the emergency setting.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with charge nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient needs.
• Manage clerical duties including answering phones, relaying messages, maintaining records, and directing visitors.
• Assist with specimen transport to the laboratory and help manage supply orders to support cost containment.
• Adapt to fast-paced, high-stress situations with flexibility and organization.
• Treat patients and families with respect, providing reassurance and clear explanations as needed.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Nursing Assistant Certification or EMT certification mandatory.
• Experience as a Nursing Assistant or EMT is required; preference given to candidates with at least one year of emergency department experience.

Licensure and Certifications

• Active Nursing Assistant Certified license or equivalent EMT certification valid in the region.
