IDD Habilitation Specialist

Job Title IDD Habilitation Specialist – Regular Overview We are hiring for an IDD Habilitation Specialist. The role is designed for positive and personable individuals who want to make a real difference in the lives of people with intellectual, developmental disabilities, mental health, and substance use challenges. As part of RHA Health Services, you will teach staff, write and implement programs aimed at supporting personal outcomes, and evaluate effectiveness through quality assurance assessments. Pay rate: $19.00 per hour. Sign‑on bonus: $2,000. Responsibilities Conduct Quality Assurance assessments for mealtime, active treatment, and formal programs focusing on adaptive behaviors such as self‑help, daily living, community living, education, socialization, and vocational skills. Evaluate and assess each client’s current level of adaptive behavior, self‑help, daily living, personal safety, community living, academics, pre‑vocational and vocational skills upon admission and update annually. Develop personal outcome programs based on priority objectives identified by the interdisciplinary team. Specify behavioral objectives, training methods, reinforcers, criteria, data‑collection method, and task analysis or training steps for each program; write and implement programs within required timelines. Observe and provide feedback while working closely with home‑care staff as they carry out personal outcome program procedures; offer encouragement and suggestions for fine‑tuning program intent and overall support plan. Review and document formal programs on 30‑day cycles, modify as appropriate, and conduct in‑service training. Conduct Personal Outcome Interviews along with other staff members to assist in identifying outcomes and supports. Train direct support staff in general and specific program implementation procedures. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Social Services, Special Education, Psychology, or a related Human Services degree. 1 year of experience working with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Valid driver’s license and automotive insurance. Ability to read and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Strong written communication skills for reporting and business correspondence. Successful completion of a background check and drug screen. CPR, first aid, NCI and/or role‑specific certification is a plus. Physical ability to lift 20 lbs regularly, lift a minimum of 40 lbs, pull a minimum of 25 lbs, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stand, as well as perform CPR involving hands, knees, bending, standing and lifting.
