General Accountant
Our client is seeking a General Accountant to support their accounting operations with a strong focus on month-end and year-end close processes.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Prepare and post general ledger entries and journal entries with accuracy and attention to detail
- Manage balance sheet and bank account administration, including reconciliations and supporting documentation
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including fixed asset reconciliation and accrual management
- Prepare financial reports and perform variance analysis to investigate discrepancies and trends
- Assist with internal and external audit requests, ensuring timely and accurate documentation support
- Maintain organized accounting records and ensure all activities are completed within established timelines
- Support internal controls and compliance by adhering to accounting principles and best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4-8 years of general accounting experience with demonstrated proficiency in GL entries, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Strong knowledge of month-end and year-end close procedures, fixed asset management, and financial reporting
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate variances and discrepancies
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Professional communication skills and ability to support cross-functional teams and audit requests
- CPA or progress toward certification preferred
