Ridge Energy is a privately held oil and gas operating company headquartered in Plano, Texas. We are actively engaged in the acquisition and development of oil and gas assets across multiple basins, with a focus on disciplined growth, strong operator relationships, and sound asset management. As we continue to expand our portfolio, we are seeking a talented and experienced Landman to join our team and lead all land-related functions across our operated and non-operated properties. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Landman located in the Dallas‑Fort Worth Metroplex. The Landman will serve as the primary land professional for the company, owning all land functions from lease acquisition and maintenance through division of interest administration and owner relations. This is a critical, high‑visibility role working directly with the SVP of Acquisitions and providing land support across active development programs and new acquisition opportunities. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter with strong technical land skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Key Responsibilities Lease Management & Acquisition Manage and maintain all oil and gas leases in the company’s portfolio, including tracking primary terms, continuous development provisions, Pugh clauses, and rental obligations Prepare, review, and negotiate lease agreements, amendments, ratifications, and extensions Coordinate with brokers and attorneys on new lease acquisition efforts supporting active drilling programs and acquisition targets Maintain a current and accurate lease database, ensuring timely identification of lease expirations and required actions Division of Interest (DOI) & Title Prepare and maintain all division of interest schedules for operated wells, ensuring accuracy from title opinions through first sales and ongoing production Review and analyze title opinions; identify and resolve title defects and curative requirements in coordination with outside counsel Manage curative title matters including affidavits, quitclaims, probate documents, and other instruments Coordinate with accounting on owner setup, revenue disbursements, and suspense resolution Owner Relations Serve as the primary point of contact for royalty owners, working interest partners, and other interest holders on land and revenue-related matters Respond to owner inquiries regarding lease terms, division orders, payment inquiries, and regulatory notices Prepare and distribute division orders and coordinate owner executions Maintain professional, responsive communication standards with all interest owners Acquisitions & Due Diligence Support Provide land due diligence support on asset acquisitions, including review of leasehold, title, and contracts Assist in the preparation of conveyance documents, assignments, and purchase and sale agreement exhibits Evaluate acreage positions and identify leasehold risks and opportunities in target areas General Land Administration Draft, review, and manage operating agreements, farmouts, surface use agreements, and other contracts Maintain organized and complete land files for all company assets Support regulatory filings and permit applications requiring land information Work cross-functionally with engineering, accounting, and legal teams as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; degree in petroleum land management, business, or a related field preferred Registered Landman (RL) or Certified Professional Landman (CPL) designation preferred Minimum 4–7 years of experience in oil and gas land, with demonstrated experience across lease management, DOI, and title Strong working knowledge of oil and gas contracts, title concepts, and conveyance documents Experience with land administration software (Quorum, WolfePak, OGsys, or similar) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interfacing with operators, attorneys, and interest owners Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple deadlines simultaneously Experience supporting acquisition due diligence is a plus Benefits Competitive base salary commensurate with experience Annual performance-based bonus Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) plan with company match Paid time off and company holidays Full-time, in-office position based in Plano, TX #J-18808-Ljbffr Ridge Energy
