Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Block Scheduling

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Labor and Delivery unit consisting of labor rooms, postpartum rooms, a triage room, and an OR suite for C-sections
• Maintain a 1:1 patient ratio in Labor and Delivery and up to 1:3 in Postpartum
• Participate in on-call rotation, including a minimum of 6 hours of call per pay period
• Work every third weekend and one major holiday per season in rotation with permanent staff
• Occasionally float to other units (MedSurg, PCU, or LTC) for task-only assignments, with the ability to be called back to L&D as unit needs dictate
• Complete a 6-shift orientation period with a preceptor prior to independent assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) – A1 Intermediate certification
• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience (first-time travelers will be considered)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• STABLE certification preferred
• Experience with Paragon (McKesson) electronic health record system
• Familiarity with LDRP patient care models
