Speech Language Pathologist - Travel Contract

Minimum Requirements

• Master‘s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited educational program
• Completed CFY and current Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA
• Active State License is Required to Start the Assignment
• BLS Certification May Be Required from AHA or ARC
• Experience with MBSS
• Experience with dysphagia
• Experience with cognitive assessment and treatment
• Experience with stroke rehabilitation
• Active Georgia license

Assignment Details

• Shift Hours: 0800-1700
• Setting: Inpatient rehabilitation
• EMR: Meditech
• Equipment used includes VitalStim, Bioness, PneuVest, and BITS visual and cognitive program
• Weekend or on-call expectation includes urgent evaluations for swallow or diet concerns, rarely
• Scrub color: Black

Location Highlights

Augusta, Georgia offers riverfront access and established recreation in a hospital-based setting. The Augusta Riverwalk runs along the Savannah River in downtown Augusta, and Phinizy Swamp Nature Park offers boardwalk trails and wildlife viewing about 15 minutes from central Augusta. Augusta is home to the Augusta National Golf Club and the Morris Museum of Art, while Atlanta is about 2.5 hours away by car for additional dining, events, and air travel access. Outdoor options include kayaking on the Savannah River and walking or cycling on the Augusta Canal Trail, with the canal area located just a few miles from downtown. The city also provides access to regional travel through Augusta Regional Airport and sits near the South Carolina border, giving travelers convenient access to two states during an assignment.
