Registered Nurse RN Cardiac PCU

Position Summary This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and standards of professional nursing practice. The RN is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by themselves or others under their direction and utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide, and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients. Full‑time, day shift (7am–7:30pm). 3×12‑hour shifts per week with rotating weekends/holidays. Self‑scheduling tool available. Earn 18% night shift differential and an additional $3/hour weekend shift differential when applicable. Sign‑on bonus of $10,000 for full‑time days with a 12‑month commitment. Core Functions Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and ensures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews information from other team members, diagnostics, and laboratory data, and reports abnormal results to physicians and other caregivers. Completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and policy. Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and input from patient, family, and health team. Initiates a plan based on patient‑specific needs, assessment data, and the medical plan. Goals for patient are realistic, measurable, and developed with the patient/family. Considers the physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age‑specific and educational needs of the patient. Plans care with multidisciplinary team and revises it as needed. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the health care team. Provides care per physician orders and nursing plan while complying with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Delegates appropriately and supervises other licensed nurses and personnel. Promotes continuity of care by communicating patient status accurately to other caregivers. Evaluates the patient’s and family’s response to care and teaching, revises the plan as needed, and assesses effectiveness of teaching. Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record. Documentation is legible, timely, and follows policy, including objective/subjective data, interventions, and patient response. Notes physician orders accurately. Provides evidence‑based care and may participate in research activities within clinical practice. Participates in unit or facility shared leadership, education, orientation of personnel and patients, and supports growth of others through precepting and mentoring when appropriate. Contributes to society through activities that improve patient outcomes, national nursing quality indicators and outcomes, and by participating in professional organizations. May supervise staff and workflow in some roles. Interacts with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, including employees of other health care institutions, community providers, and agencies. Provides spiritual support via clergy when needed. Synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to support patient and family responses to changes in health status. Minimum Qualifications Current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification required; additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice. Experience in the requested clinical area (acute care, telemetry, ICU, etc.) desired; must maintain clinical performance competencies through annual validations. Minimum one year acute‑care experience within the past 12months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area for Banner Registry and Travel positions. Must possess required fingerprint clearance card for specific facilities as outlined. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred. Professional certification preferred.
