Assistant Store ManagerResponsibilities include assisting the Store Manager in the management of all facets of store operations in support of the Goodwill Mission.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Foster and maintain a positive store culture for employees, participants and customersEffectively recruit, hire, develop, supervise, schedule and evaluate store personnel; supervise volunteersProvide on-the-job training and onboarding for new and existing employeesComplete daily breakdown audit, store bank deposit, and reconciling cash drawersAssure donations are processed within 24 hours of receiptSupport all Mission-related programs in the retail storeEnsure customers are treated in a fair, courteous, and efficient mannerMaintain a safe working/shopping environment. Investigate and document all accidents/injuries/incidentsAssist the Store Manager in maintaining an effective loss prevention program for the storeEnsure adequate merchandise colorization and categorization of store inventoryCreate timely store sales events to achieve additional revenueResponsible for authorizing store discounts according to agency standardsEnsure all store salvaging is completed in a timely and safe fashionPromote diversity in the work place through hiring practices with assistance from the Human Resources DepartmentMeet or exceed the attendance expectations for this positionMust be able to assist at other store locationsMust be able to work all closing shiftsActively maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment that promotes the physical and emotional well being of employees, customers, and participantsOther duties as assignedIndividual Development & Productivity:Personally participate in ongoing cross training opportunities, education and development as well as supporting others in their efforts to develop.Working relationship with supervisor, co-workers, and inter-departmentally.Must have good supervisory and customer relations skills.Must have the ability to apply sound judgment and common sense across a variety of situations.Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.Organizational Development:Educate customers and the community about the mission and vision of the organization.Demonstrate the Goodwill core values through actions and words.Qualification Requirements:Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field preferredOne (1) years' experience in a retail setting requiredOne (1) years' experience in a lead or supervisory capacity requiredCertificates, Licenses, Registrations:None requiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Must be able to work flexible hours as required in order to meet operational needs of the store.Must have good marketing and merchandising ability.Must have knowledge of clothing and fashion trends.Must be a self-starter.Physical Demands:Medium Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.Work Environment:Moderate Occasionally exposed to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise fumes, dust, etc.)
