SAGE Rental Services is seeking a reliable and motivated Shop Technician to join our team in Shreveport, LA . This role is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and installation of SAGE rental equipment, including work performed at customer locations as needed.

The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, safety-minded, and committed to providing excellent customer service. This person should communicate well, take pride in quality work, and be motivated to support customers and team members in a prompt and professional manner.

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to) :

• Customer service – Inspect, test, and troubleshoot equipment and machinery. Diagnose issues, resolve requests or concerns in a timely manner, maintain positive customer relationships, and follow company operating and safety procedures.
• Equipment repair and maintenance – Perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and service work on rental equipment. Create customer work orders, troubleshoot equipment issues, and guide customers on proper equipment use when needed.

Requirements :

• Must live within local commuting distance of the Shreveport, LA area; rotational on/off schedule work will not be provided
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• High school diploma or GED
• Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen
• Must be willing and available to participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours service requests
• Problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
• Previous diesel and service experience
• Technical and computer literacy skills, including experience with Microsoft Office, engine diagnostic tools, rental industry software, and related systems
• Ability to build strong relationships with customers and display excellent communication skills
• Ability to manage workflow in a timely and consistent manner while working well in a team environment
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds
• Commitment to following company workplace safety guidelines and environmental standards while on duty or on site
• Personal tools required

Preferred Qualifications :

• Trade or technical certification, or previous rental, industrial, or heavy equipment experience
• Rotating equipment experience
• 2–5 years of relevant experience; heavy equipment industry experience preferred
