Owned Social Strategist [211422]

We are seeking a visionary individual to bring to life the organic social marketing strategy and program across our leading digital content service. This is a unique opportunity to shape how millions discover and engage with compelling content. You will be at the forefront of social media innovation, crafting impactful stories and cultivating an engaged audience for one of the world’s most beloved digital content platforms. What You’ll Do Develop social‑first concepts, campaigns, and programs that feed into our content service’s owned social channels. Lead social briefings for campaigns, formats, and initiatives, setting the strategic direction. Collaborate with multiple cross‑functional teams on planning and executing integrated campaigns and projects on social media. Drive awareness and excitement around video content available on our digital content platform. Evangelize social best practices to cross‑functional teams and stakeholders, both internally and externally. Demonstrate thought leadership and perspective around best‑in‑class social trends, ideas, and strategy for key marketing moments. Provide hands‑on support for programming and publishing, as needed, across owned social channels. Be available for on‑call nights and weekends as needed to support critical initiatives. Manage key agency relationships, ensuring strategic alignment and execution excellence. Must‑Have Qualifications 5+ years of experience in digital/social marketing within the social media space. 3+ years managing agencies and vendors. Experience working directly with creators, artists, and other external partners to collaborate on social marketing efforts. Ability to understand and use data to inform strategic decisions, including audience insights, platform trends, content performance benchmarks, and social listening. Experience working in a multifaceted environment, adept at navigating complex structures. Excellent storytelling and presentation skills, capable of captivating audiences. Ability to work nimbly and navigate ambiguity with confidence and strategic thinking. Strong leadership and negotiation skills, fostering productive collaborations. Ability to juggle multiple campaigns and projects simultaneously without compromising quality. Experience working with high‑profile talent on high‑stakes projects, ensuring seamless execution. Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications A futuristic thinker and creative problem‑solver, ensuring our services are uniquely ahead of the curve and cementing a position as a leader in innovative social media storytelling. An early adopter of emerging technology with hands‑on experience using current AI tools to creatively streamline and optimize social media workflows. Tuned in to cultural trends and conversations in digital content, books, music, fashion, sports, tech, and entertainment. A deep understanding of media, technology, and the ever‑changing landscape of social platforms, audiences, and behaviors. A collaborative and team‑oriented approach, consistently resulting in shared success. Demonstrates professionalism and a strong work ethic with the ability to set boundaries effectively. An excellent communicator and collaborator, skilled at pitching new ideas and gaining buy‑in across multiple teams and leadership levels.
