Job Description
The Steward is responsible for maintaining kitchen cleanliness, sanitation, and organization, supporting the back-of-house team in a fast-paced luxury dining environment.
This is a full-time position with an hourly compensation rate of $29.00 an hour.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Wash, sanitize, and store dishware, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient dish station.
- Assist chefs with basic prep tasks, including ingredient cleaning and storage.
- Monitor and restock clean service ware for seamless kitchen operations.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety sanitation protocols.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in kitchen sanitation or stewarding preferred.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and HACCP guidelines.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Skills
- Strong physical endurance and ability to work in a high-paced environment.
- Attention to detail in kitchen hygiene and equipment handling.
- Ability to multitask and support multiple kitchen stations as needed.
Physical Demands And Work Environment
- Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas
- Ability to move safely in uneven terrain or in confined spaces
- Remain active, constantly moving, or prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer throughout work shift or prolonged standing for a period
- Medium Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of constantly moving objects, may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
