Physical Therapist- Outpatient Per Diem

Position Summary: Plans and implements specific treatment programs for individual and grouped patients according to the principles of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Responsibilities: Collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare treatment team. Supervises physical therapy assistants, rehabilitation aides, and volunteers. Provides an educational in-service to the staff annually as assigned by the Supervisor. Provide holiday coverage in acute care setting. Assume the role of clinical instructor to physical therapy students as assigned by the Rehab Director or CCCE.

Special Skills or Educational Requirements: NYS Physical Therapy License and current registration, or eligible. Current CPR/BLS certification through the American Heart Association. Preferred: The ideal candidate will have experience and/or interest in working with patients with Parkinson's disease, balance/vestibular diagnoses, and other neurologic diagnoses. This individual may participate in and play a lead role on an allied healthcare inter-professional care team specific for Parkinson's disease. Specialty certification or interest in the areas of Balance/Vestibular Rehab, Lymphedema, or Women's Health/Pelvic Floor preferred.

Physical Demands: Occasional heavy lifting when providing patient care. Attention to detail. As part of employment at Southampton Hospital, there may be occasions when travel to other locations is needed to support operational needs.

Anticipated Pay Range: The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established based on relevant experience.
