Overview

This position is responsible for transporting building material products to branch yards, existing homes, and/or construction job sites in a safe, accurate, and timely manner. Proper material handling practices are required to load, secure, and unload material for delivery. Assist Stagers and Yard Material Handlers when not out on deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that each delivery is done accurately, safely and in a timely manner
• Obey traffic laws, and follow established traffic and transportation procedures per state and fed regulations
• Gather various materials according to invoices to be loaded for customer deliveries
• Band like materials together for easy loading
• Load and secure material on delivery truck
• Follow guidelines for proper load placement at job sites
• Communicate to management jobsite problems and or complaints
• Perform pre and post trip inspections
• Inspect and maintain truck supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, tires, lights, and brakes, to ensure that trucks are in proper working condition
• Report any mechanical problems encountered with the trucks and associated equipment
• Safe and proper use of equipment
• Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications

• Valid License
• Ability to lift 80 lbs.
• Experience on a propane Forklift, must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to use sound judgment and problem-solving skills to analyze customer needs and to recommend the proper course of action
