Licensed Veterinary Technician

Join Our Team as a Licensed Veterinary Technician!
Are you a compassionate and skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician looking to make a difference in the lives of animals? Westside Veterinary Center in New York City is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team. As an independent veterinary practice, we provide comprehensive medical, dental, surgical, and emergency care for small animals and exotics. By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a supportive environment where your skills and expertise will be valued.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Monitor anesthesia during dental procedures
- Recover patients post operatively
- Perform patient treatments / pain medication
- Perform in-house labs
- Perform digital radiographs
- Assist with discharge planning and educate pet owners on post-care instructions
- Keep patients clean and comfortable
- Maintain and stock hospital supplies
Required Skills:
- Registered/Certified Veterinary Technician
- Experience with IV catheterization
- Proficient in anesthesia monitoring and administration
- Ability to perform x-rays, venipuncture, and lab procedures
- Knowledge of internal medicine, surgery, critical care, and diagnostic procedures
- Animal Restraint
- Veterinary Assisting
- Patient Recovery
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with medical records management
- Ability to triage and provide emergency care
Salary and Benefits:
The minimum salary for this position is $30/hr. In addition, we offer health insurance, 401(k) options, flexible schedules, holiday pay, and paid time off.
