Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $2290 per week.

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Prior experience working on a dedicated neuro unit. RNs titrate heparin drips based on PTT; heparin drip experience required.

Special Requests: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to. Block scheduling may be possible with staffing.

Unit Details: Dedicated neuro med-surg unit caring for stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, head injury, and other neuroscience patients, with some medical overflow. Ratios: days 1:4-5, nights 1:5-6; surge staffing may increase ratios to 1:6 days and 1:7 nights. Charge nurse and house supervisor available 24/7; charge nurse typically does not take an assignment unless the unit is short-staffed. Nurse aides/patient care techs available: days and evenings 1:9-10, nights 1:10-12. House-wide telemetry; nurses do not read their own strips. Uses Phillips monitors. High-flow oxygen for stable COVID patients is used rarely.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend; Saturday and Sunday are considered the weekend on both shifts. Every other holiday. No call.

Floating Requirements: Float in rotation with the rest of staff. General unit travelers float to general unit floors and take a full team. If floated outside the general unit in urgent need, assignments will be limited to skills the nurse is competent to perform and paired with a nurse trained for that unit.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
