We are looking for a dedicated individual with good work ethics that is seeking a long-term career with a stable company. Pay Range 70-160k (depending on experience level). This is a metallurgical engineer role. In order to qualify for this position, you MUST have a degree in Materials Science or Metallurgical Engineering and proven experience with heat treatment technology. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reviewing customer specifications and developing manufacturing methods Coordinating input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs Provide direction on relative to appropriate and optimal Materials & Processes selection Support materials development, processes, and applications Investigates new sources of materials, technology, and manufacturing processes. Recommends selection of vendors. Collaborates with purchasing in obtaining quotations or bids. Applies statistical methods to solve problems and design experiments Analyze process defects to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence Support failure investigations as needed Prepare technical documentation and provide support/feedback for process changes Develops and documents the manufacturing process in detail with an emphasis on visual media, ease of training, and standardized format Reviewing and approving engineering drawings Education and/or Experience B.S. in Materials Science or Metallurgical Engineering is required. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Design software; Internet software; Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Current Driver's License Other Skills and Abilities Experience with alloys of Titanium, Stainless Steel, Nickel, Refractory, Copper, and Aluminum Exposure with Brazing: Vacuum Furnace, Hydrogen Furnace, and Induction Exposure to Diffusion Bonding: in vacuum or controlled atmosphere Micro-Channel heat exchangers and cold plates Furnace Tooling and Fixturing Thin-Film Coating Material phase changes Metrology Lean Manufacturing NADCAP, ISO 9001-2000, and/or AS-9100 Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
