Job Description

Job Title: ETL Developer Location: Mclean, VA Type: Contract Security Clearance: Due to a Federal contract, U.S. Citizenship or Green Card required, with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance Contact: View email address on ziprecruiter.com RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise ETL/ELT solutions to integrate data from multiple source systems
Develop scalable and high-performance data pipelines for batch and near real-time data processing
Build and maintain data integration workflows using modern ETL tools and cloud-based data platforms
Analyze source systems and business requirements to create efficient data mapping, transformation, and validation rules
Optimize ETL performance, troubleshoot data processing issues, and implement tuning strategies to improve efficiency
Collaborate with data architects, database administrators, business analysts, and application teams to deliver reliable data solutions
Develop and maintain data warehouses, operational data stores, and reporting data marts
Implement data quality checks, reconciliation processes, and exception handling frameworks
Create and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and operational runbooks
Support production deployments, incident resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with data governance, security, privacy, and organizational standards

REQUIREMENTS
U.S. Citizenship or Green Card required, with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, engineering, or a related field; four additional years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in ETL development, data integration, and data warehousing
Strong experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, SSIS, Talend, DataStage, AWS Glue, or similar platforms
Proficiency in SQL and database technologies including SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
Experience designing complex data transformation, data migration, and integration solutions
Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and star/snowflake schemas
Experience working with cloud-based data services and modern data platforms
Knowledge of data quality, data governance, and metadata management best practices
Experience with performance tuning, error handling, and troubleshooting large-scale ETL processes
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in Agile development environments and collaborate across technical and business teams
