Physician Pediatric Hospitalist - Competitive Salary

Job Description

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Pediatric Hospitalist to join our dynamic and nationally recognized Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. This is an exciting opportunity to practice alongside a team of 25 faculty members in a premier academic children’s hospital environment that prioritizes excellence in clinical care, teaching, and collaborative team-based practice.

\n Key Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Provide inpatient care across general pediatric hospital medicine services.
\n
• Supervise and teach pediatric residents and advanced practice providers.
\n
• Perform scheduled weekday, weekend, and evening (until midnight) admitting shifts.
\n
• Participate in home call during weeks assigned to resident/APP-covered teams.
\n
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary environment of physicians, APPs, nurses, and ancillary teams.
\n
• Participate in divisional activities, including quality improvement, education, and committee work (based on track and interest).
\n
• Contribute to a culture of safety, communication, and family-centered care.
\n

Qualifications:

\n

\n
• MD or DO degree.
\n
• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatric Hospital Medicine.\n

  • Exceptions may apply for those in practice >8 years prior to the establishment of PHM Fellowships. 
  \n
\n
• Eligible for Tennessee medical licensure.
\n
• Commitment to teamwork, communication, and high-quality clinical care.
\n
• Strong interest in individuals with backgrounds or interests in:\n
  \n
  • Quality, safety, and operations (including formal QI training such as IHI or AIM).
  \n
  • Clinical program development (e.g., co-management models, patient-flow initiatives).
  \n
  • Informatics (fellowship training or practical informatics experience).
  \n
