Job TitleBoiler Operator Job Description SummaryWorking under a shift lead will be responsible for the observation and safe operation, adjustment, maintenance, repair, and operation compliance of stationary high-pressure steam boilers and Co-Gen turbine waste heat steam boilers at the site. As well as, all the ancillary mechanical equipment related to electric power generation, dry steam production, cooling tower water, air compressors, air dryers, and plant chiller operation. Job Description Essential Functions · Observes pressure, temperature, electrical power output and make necessary adjustments to maintain proper operation and compliance. · Perform manual operations by opening and closing valves as well as the computer automation system to keep all systems operational. · Observe boilers, turbines, and other mechanical equipment to detect malfunctions and leaks. · Maintain all necessary logs of meter readings, levels, and chemistry required for operation. · Test water chemistry as necessary for proper boiler water operation. · Check lubrication levels and add as necessary to maintain safe operation of equipment. · Perform routine maintenance to keep the facility operational. · Monitor and troubleshoot process equipment in the field. · Be able to shut systems down safely and startup as requested. · Be able to switch boilers and turbines between natural gas and liquid fuels. Requirements · New Jersey state license Black Seal High Pressure is a minimum requirement for this position.
