Pay Rate: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Every shop needs someone to run the presses-and a skilled Press Assistant to keep them rolling. That's where you come in. As a Press Assistant, you'll help keep production moving by preparing printing presses, staging materials, and supporting press operators throughout the manufacturing process.


Press Assistant Responsibilities & Job Duties:

• Prepare printing presses for production by completing machine setup, cleanup, and changeovers.
• Mix inks and stage tooling, cylinders, and printing plates according to production schedules.
• Inspect cylinders, plates, and tooling for quality and proper fit before installation.
• Mount printing plates and verify correct colors, quantities, and specifications.
• Follow production schedules to ensure materials and equipment are ready for each job.
• Maintain press cleanliness and assist with minimizing equipment downtime.
• Communicate quality or equipment concerns to supervisors and the pre-press team.
• Follow all plant safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Work overtime as needed to support production demands.

Press Assistant Qualifications & Requirements:

• Previous experience in manufacturing, printing, production, machine operation, or press assisting preferred.
• Ability to read work instructions, production schedules, and measuring tools, including rulers and fractions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and troubleshoot basic production issues.
• Comfortable using computers and learning new manufacturing systems.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
• Must successfully complete the required pre-employment Key Assessment testing.
